This heritage building can accommodate 100 guests in a mix of private rooms & shared dorm rooms. The communal bathrooms have been finished to the highest standard & the new gaming area will be a great addition to any FIFA fan. The reception & dining area is open with modern & heritage designs mixed. Here at Mad Monkey, we are known for our family atmosphere so you are guaranteed to meet some amazing like-minded people. Our staff at Mad Monkey Backpackers are always happy to help in any way possible, in order to ensure your needs and safety are well looked after. Our Reception makes sure that a friendly face will be there to welcome & assist you at our Mad Monkey doors.
Reception hours | daily 9am – 5pm
If arriving at the airport you can either book a taxi or an Uber. If you go by train please get off at the Central train station and it will only be a 15 minute walk to the hostel.

We understand we are now in the 21st century & WiFi is a complete necessity. Whether you need to Facetime home, upload photos of your adventures, stream videos or having a cheeky Facebook stalk of that guy you met the other night, Mad Monkey has you covered with completely FREE unlimited & high speed WiFi throughout the hostel. IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
- We are an international youth hostel. A valid international passport must be shown on check in.
- We are a strictly 18+ property. Our dorm rooms are recommended for people ages 18-35. If you are over the age of 35 we would advise booking a private room for your own comfort.
- Check-in after 2pm and check-out is before 10am. Free luggage storage and full use of facilities are available prior to check in and after check out.
- Reception hours are 8am to 8pm.
- If checking in after 8pm, please contact the night manager on 02-8705-3762 when you arrive and you will be shown to your room. Please then complete check in the following morning.
- If checking out prior to 8am, please organise an early check out with reception the night before.
- Any no shows or cancellations within 24 hours of arrival will be charged the first nights accommodation.
- All bookings between 23rd December and 2nd January are NON-REFUNDABLE and are subject to a 10 night minimum stay. Payment will be processed within 72 hours of booking and if the card cannot be charged then your booking will be cancelled. Please also note that our reception will be closed to arrival and departures between 23rd December and 2nd January: no check-ins or outs will be allowed during this time. If your booking contains a check in/out scheduled for those dates then it will be subject to immediate cancellation.
- Guests who are already in house and paid are able to cancel up to 48 hours in advance to receive a refund for the remaining nights on the reservation
