Mad Monkey Downtown is a 2022 newly renovated hostel in the heart of Kings Cross. We offer FREE Wifi, & FREE Xbox in our common area. Our kitchen, TV room & balcony are set up for a social vibe. Guests can choose between private rooms or 4 bed dorms. All our dorms have privacy screens on the beds & powerpoint to recharge your devices after a great day out in Sydney. All rooms have shared bathrooms and toilet facilities. All beds come with clean linen.
We organise FREE events & discounted tickets for pub crawl. We are surrounded by our sister hostels Mad Monkey Kings Cross & Mad Monkey Bayswater, make sure you go to the correct one!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE
- We are an international youth hostel. A valid international passport must be shown on check in.
- We are a strictly 18+ property. Our dorm rooms are recommended for people ages 18-35. If you are over the age of 35 we would advise booking a private room for your own comfort.
- Check-in after 2pm and check-out is before 10am. Free luggage storage and full use of facilities are available prior to check in and after check out.
- Reception hours are 8am to midnight.
- If checking in after 5pm, please contact the night manager on 02-8363-3346 when you arrive and you will be shown to your room. Please complete the check in the following morning.
- If checking out prior to 8am, please organise an early check out with reception the night before.
- Any no shows or cancellations within 24 hours of arrival will be charged the first nights accommodation.
- All bookings between 23rd December and 2nd January are NON-REFUNDABLE and are subject to a 10 night minimum stay. Payment will be processed within 72 hours of booking and if the card cannot be charged then your booking will be cancelled. Please also note that our reception will be closed to arrival and departures between 23rd December and 2nd January: no check-ins or outs will be allowed during this time. If your booking contains a check in/out scheduled for those dates then it will be subject to immediate cancellation.
- Guests who are already in house and paid are able to cancel up to 48 hours in advance to receive a refund for the remaining nights on the reservation
- The following payment methods are accepted; cash, credit or debit cards (Visa and MasterCard only). We do not accept American Express. All credit or debit cards incur a 1% payment fee.
- When booking multiple beds in a shared dorm, we cannot guarantee to put people on the same booking in the same room, however we will do our best.
